Much Appreciated

This is my entry into this week’s retro sketches challenge and I think I’ll be using this card layout a lot!

The sketch and my card

The papers on the card are by My Mind’s Eye and the sentiment stamp is by AmyR Designs. The crochet trim is Hero Arts and the twine MME. Gems are from stash. I think I’m kind of addicted to scattering gems around the place Smile

yellow on a christmas card?

An unusual colour choice perhaps. yellow is mainly easter or spring in the card making world but Lawn Fawn have included a gorgeous buttermilk/yellow patterned paper in their fa-la-la paper pack so I challenged myself to use it.

It does have a gorgeous snowflake pattern to it which helps! I kept it very clean and simple.

The sentiment is a stamp by Hero Arts and the cream satin ribbon is from fantastic ribbons. The gem in the centre is by MME.

so yeah, an unusual Christmassy colour but it totally works!

More Friends, More Butterflies

I made this card yesterday whilst hiding inside from the rain and listening to music. Still in a butterfly mood as you can see! Smile.

Lisa Butterfly Friends Card

I’ve used butterflies which are from the Kanban butterflies stamp set that you’ve seen a lot of over the past few weeks!

I stamped the butterflies in Tuxedo black memento ink and the coloured them with Derwent Aquatone watercolour pencils which I bought way back in 2010 and have never used until now… lol

When the butterflies were dry, I painted them with Glamour dust paint and applied stickles to the blue one and a green rhinestone to the green butterfly.

The sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts.

The background is Bazzill Kraft cardstock (love that stuff!) and I’ve stamped it with the Kaisercraft Woodgrain background stamp in Versamark and I’m just a little bit smitten by the finished look.
