Inspiration

When I made this card, I had a stinker of a cold which inspired a digi by Mayzy Art. I find inspiration in the strangest (in a totally good way Mayzy if you’re reading this…!) of places too so I really got a kick out of inspiring a digi stamp!

Here’s my card with the stamp in question, Under the Weather Xandra.

Get Well Soon

Poor little Xandra! I even made her nose a bit pink cos she looks so darn poorly.

I’ve used the sketch from Quixotic Paperie to make this card. I know it’s a get well soon card, but I know, when I’m not well, a bit of colour usually cheers me up (hint hint hubby, flowers for the poorly girl!).I’ve coloured her with Letraset Promarkers. Someone asked me what paper I use to print off my digis, well it depends. If I’m using my Promarkers then I print them off onto glossy photo paper. I used to use digital cardstock but the photo paper is much cheaper and does the same job. It does bleed through – that’s alcohol markers for ya! But the colours don’t run and they blend up a treat and are incredibly vibrant, as you can see. For my pencils, I use Create and Craft CS from Wilko.

I’ve been scraps raiding again, using papers by MME. The ribbon is from eBay and the brad is also MME. Bling is from Heidi (thanks again Heidi, I’m pretty much gonna thank you each time I use them or you get sick of it! lol) As an aside, I went to order some more self adhesive gems from my usual seller on eBay only to find that they’ve renamed the listing as Vajazzle gems! LOL!! They’re just self adhesive multi coloured gems. I’m not sure I want to order them and have people think I’m walking around with sparkly “bits” TYVM! Might have to find a new seller… hehe

You Can Stand Under My Umbrella

…ella ella. eh eh eh

Right, got that out of my system! Boy did I ever wake up with a stinking cold today or what? Streaming nose, throat like I’d swallowed a cactus, ear aching like my brain’s trying to escape from it –the lot! Seriously, if you think man flu is bad, you’ve not met me yet – and I’m a lady (in my best David Walliams voice)

So needless to day I haven’t put scissor to paper today at all but I thought I’d better blog the card I made last night.

Practice Makes Perfect

I’ve got another card made with another adorable image by Mayzy Art to share with you today and she’s a blondie! I know!! I rarely colour my images with blonde hair but my beloved Henna Promarker decided to give up the ghost last night *sob*. I could have used my Coloursofts but thought I’d just go blonde instead.

When you were little did your mum ever tell you that practice makes perfect? As with most things, mum related, she was right! Just keep plodding along and you’ll get there in the end!

The reason I chose this sentiment to go with this card, and image, is because of the plaster (band-aid to my US readers) on her knee. Funny the things that inspire me!
