Smile, Life is Good

Jellypark DT Card - Smile, Life is Good

It’s new challenge and new release day at Jellypark Friends Friday Challenge and the theme for the challenge is “Make Us Laugh” so dust off your favourite puns, your funny images. Make us laugh!

The new release this weeks is the stamp I’ve used on my card. It comes with a sentiment too which I’ve not used but you’ll be able to see on the samples made by some of the other design team ladies.

I’ve coloured her with promarkers and derwent coloursoft pencils and the paper, journaling card, paper bag and pink washi are all by Alison Kreft for Webster’s Pages. The wood veneer is Studio Calico and the grey washi is from Pebbles.

Don’t forget to pop over to the Jellypark store for some digi goodness and sign up for the Jellypark club – it’s free!

But only because I can’t think of what to call this post!

If this year of craftiness has taught me anything, it’s that I am a CAS girl through and through. I don’t get on with a lot of embellishments, I never know where to put all the flowers and ribbons etc so I don’t add them at all. I know my cards are not to everyone’s taste but they’re mine and my style is my own and next year I plan to hone it further.

I made this card today, funnily enough it was inspired by a tweet I saw from someone saying how they missed someone across the pond (Atlantic ocean).

The patterned paper is by Studio Calico and I distressed the edges of the paper with tea dye distress inks. The sentiment is made up from fancy pants alpha stickers and the heart about the “i” is a lawn fawn stamp.

Inspired by…

There is a really lovely Tumblr blog called Inspiration Lane and it is chock full of gorgeous photos. I discovered it a few days ago and it has certainly been a good source of inspiration in my crafting.

Take this photo for example

I took the colours from this scrummy looking gingerbread house and made this card

The patterned paper is by Echo Park and isn’t Christmas paper at all but I always think that doilies look like snowflakes so for the purposes of this card, that’s what they are! Smile The peace sentiment is a chipboard element from MME and the snowflakes are Studio Calico wood veneers with a tiny rhinestone in the centre.
